This was a very special
wedding for me. One of my oldest friends finally
met the woman of his dreams and decided to get married
in Montana. Dave has been coming to visit for 13
years, but this was Mary Ann's first visit ever to the
state and she arrived to find a 24,000 acre forest
fire burning just miles from the Paradise Valley
wedding location. Thankfully, rain and cooler
weather arrived and the fire, and the smoke, settled
giving us lovely day for a wedding, even with the
storms that swirled around the Valley. Since
fire was on everyone's mind, we incorporated it into
the design featuring brilliant orange, red, yellow and
pink centerpieces on custom linens that carried the
color tag, "fire". For place cards we
wrapped orange ribbon around marsh mellows (when life
hands you fire, roast marsh mellows) and displayed
them in split firewood all set around a mini
campfire. Because this has been a dry year and
fire is a very serious concern, this as a
"flame-free" wedding. Instead of
candles, we used led fire cubes in our candle holders
and took it a step further by creating a large faux
camp fire with the same fire cubes in the fire
ring. We rounded out the party with great food,
wonderful friends, a pink themed cake for the bride
and a NY Yankees cake for the groom.
Congratulations Dave and Mary Ann and thanks so much
for letting us be a part of this great event!
