There
are definitely iconic weddings and for me, Grace Kelly
and Prince
Rainier III of Monaco is definitely at the top of the
list. You
look at the pictures and even though the wedding was
on a grand scale, it was so classic, timeless.
I loved planning this wedding because it had
that same feel. The
couple exchanged vows, surrounded by a 20 member
wedding party, in the awe-inspiring grandeur of The
Cathedral of St. Helena.
Following the ceremony, the 336 guests moved to
the historic Montana Club where the reception was
spread out over 3 floors We worked with an audio/video
team to run a video system with plasma screens on
every floor to keep the rooms connected.
It was a real challenge to run the reception
over three floors, but this whole wedding really had
that grand, yet classic, feel to it.
One of my favorite things was I spotted this
balcony out front and was able to talk the manager
into letting the couple go out on it for a picture.
Apparently it hasn’t been done, at least in a
very long time. We
put a tray over the grating for the bride to stand on,
and I ran across the street with the photographer.
It was like the picture of Grace Kelly and
Prince Rainier on the balcony. It was the final touch to a wedding fit for a princess. wedding
