A
Montana Wedding Planners Tips
With
its scenic vistas and topnotch wedding vendors, Montana is fast
becoming one of the hottest destination wedding locals in the
United States. As
the demand for Montana weddings has grown, so have the options
available to the couple. From
rustic turn of the century buildings to resorts perched high in
the Rocky Mountains, Montana has a venue to fulfill every
wedding dream. Following
are a few things to keep in mind when planning a Montana wedding.
- The
weather in Montana is unpredictable.
As the locals like to say, “If you don’t like the
weather in Montana, wait 15 minutes, it’ll change.”
Snow can fall any month and rumor has it that the
only day it has never snowed in Montana is August 14.
Be prepared by packing clothing for cooler weather.
Polar fleece is a wonderful option as are sweaters
and light coats.
- Montana
is an ideal place for an outdoor wedding, but it’s always
a good idea to have an indoor backup or tent available.
As we have always mentioned, the weather is
unpredictable and can change at anytime.
Late afternoon storms, some very heavy, are
commonplace throughout the summer, especially in the later
months.
- Montana
is a pretty casual place.
You can go into just about any restaurant in the
state in nice jeans and a dress shirt.
Cowboy hats and boots are optional.
- Pack
a comfortable pair of hiking boots or tennis shoes.
Montana is an incredible place and if you take the
time to hike around the country, you’ll find yourself in
some of the most beautiful country in the United States.
There are hikes for all levels, from beginner to
advanced. Visit
a local sporting goods store for advice and for maps.
- Keep
in mind that Montana is in the middle of an extended
draught. As a
result, fire is a constant concern.
If you or your guests smoke, please make sure that
all cigarettes are properly extinguished and disposed of.
Never throw cigarettes out the car window or toss
aside into the grass where they can smolder and cause a
fire. When it
is dry, fires start very easily and spread very quickly.
- Montana
has become a major tourist and wedding destination.
Make your arrangements and reservations early.
Venues, vendors, rental cars, and the airlines fill
early and can be difficult to book if you wait until the
last minute. A
professional wedding planner can help you with
recommendations and bookings.
